Background

1999 ESE is founded as Centro de Estudios Superiores de la Empresa of the Universidad de los Andes, with the institutional support of IESE Business School (Spain) and IAE Business School (Argentina).
 
2000 The Business Consulting Board and the Academic Board are established.
PADE is carried out in the Centro de Eventos CasaPiedra.

ESE’s Alumni Association is founded.
 
2001 PPD, Program for Management Development, begins.
The first program in Chile oriented at board directors: PGC, Corporate Governance Program, is initiated.
 
2002 The Executive MBA begins, with classes at the newly inaugurated Library Building of the University.
Focused Programs are initiated.
The Fernando Larraín Vial Professor Chair on Business Ethics and Responsibility is created.
The Jorge Yarur Banna Professor Chair on Family Businesses is created.
ESE officially becomes the Business School of the Universidad de los Andes.
 
2003 PADE and PDD programs begin to take place at the University facilities.
The In-Company Programs are begun - custom designed for the different companies.
The Continuous Education Program for ESE’s Alumni Association members begins.
 
2004 The PricewaterhouseCoopers Professor Chair on Corporate Governance is created.
The Embotelladora Andina Professor Chair on Human Capital is created.
The publication of the Work Papers Series, to divulge the research carried out by the ESE Professors is started.
 
2005 The Chile Business and Humanism Center [Centro de Empresa y Humanismo Chile] is created.
The ESE Award to the Outstanding Business Family is established.
The building of the new ESE headquarters at the Universidad de los Andes Campus is started.
The first issue of the ESE Alumni Association is published.
 
2006 The new ESE headquarters, of 7300 m2 in its fist stage, are inaugurated.
The Diploma on Applied Finance program begins, being the first program of this type at the ESE.
The Alumni Association establishes the Outstanding Student Award.
 
2007 The Excecutive MBA is accredited for five years by the MBA Association (AMBA).
The Diploma on Marketing and Sales Management begins.
Beginning of the conference cycles on Person and Family.
 
2008 Beginning of the Medium Business Management Program [DME (Dirección para la Mediana Empresa)], unique in its type in Chile.
The ESE Cases begin to be distributed by IESE Publishing.
 
2009 Start of the Master on Applied Finance, which replaces and enhances the Diploma on Applied Finance.
